LOOM

After granite, metal and wood.

Their bus is your quiet. Plan the hour. Do not sandwich after GEM in July.

After packed granite, Bab al-Khalq is metal, wood, manuscript, mosque furniture. Coaches prefer sand because sand photographs faster; use that absence until a school files in. Hail a taxi by the house’s name. The 2014 damage is wall history — tell it without theatre.

Ninety minutes can close a wing. Three hours binds an honest edge. Do not add this house after Giza walking and geology in August.

Card from 18 August 2026 — Bab al-Khalq

09:20 — Tuesday. Giza coaches already pointed west. First brass panel threw their faces back. Stepped aside until stars returned. One inlaid leaf until 11:35: how the stars met, how the hinge still seated. 2014 damage told as wall history, not theatre. Fustat stayed on its own page. Plateau stayed a silhouette on somebody else’s morning. Ninety minutes closed a wing. Three hours would have been an edge they did not need.

Metal, wood, manuscript

Do not arrive with eyes already cooked on the Giza approach. Coaches prefer sand because sand photographs faster; until a school files in, that absence is yours. Captions are scaffolding. Geometry is the visit. You can finish a panel without Arabic. Dynasty names are decoration. Polished brass will throw you back at yourself; step aside. Usually untimed. Read the board and egymonuments.gov.eg.

Hail a taxi using the house’s name. Do not advertise the morning as an expedition. The bazaar afterward shoves — skip it, or leave already knowing the plan. Labels mix. Geometry does not wait. See Selvedge. Coaches skipping this door is not a ranking of what the rooms hold. The brass taught more about sett than a caption about dynasties. Do not add this house after Giza walking and geology in August.

A neighbour on the map

Qalawun and Islamic Art share a city. They do not share a card. Mixing them because a map calls them neighbours is how weft runs. The stone in the plate is a later walk, photographed, not entered as a second house. Hail a taxi. Finish a house. Go home. Stars, or only your own face.

Dress the warp. Throw one pick. Bind the selvedge. Staff glass still outranks Champollion Street. We will not throw a second shuttle through cloth already cut from the beam.

From the beam

Must I read Arabic to finish a panel?

Labels mix. Geometry does not wait.

Why one inlaid leaf?

That leaf taught more about sett than a dynasty caption.

How to tell a child about 2014?

As wall history. Facts, not theatre.

The bazaar after?

Vendors shove. Know the plan, or skip the lane.

Qalawun is next door on the map.

Next door on a map is not one card. The brass was 18 August.
